Getting inHow to Join
Seven steps from a fresh install to your first scene in Gatewood. It takes about twenty minutes, most of which is FiveM downloading.
What you need
Connect to Gatewood
Once you're whitelisted, any of these gets you into the city.
Or press F8 in FiveM and paste:
You can also search Gatewood in the FiveM server list and favourite us.
From download to first scene
Own GTA V
A legitimate copy on Steam, Rockstar or Epic. Launch it once and reach the story mode menu so the game is fully installed and updated.
Install FiveM
Download it from fivem.net and let the first-run update finish. It installs alongside GTA V — it does not modify your game files.
Link your accounts
Open FiveM and sign in with your CFX account, then link Discord in the FiveM settings. We use that link to match you to your whitelist.
Verify in our Discord
Accept the rules in the verify channel. That unlocks the rest of the server and gets you the Citizen role.
Get whitelisted
Submit the City Access application. Most decisions land inside 48 hours and you get a DM the moment yours is made — keep your DMs open.
Set push-to-talk
In FiveM's settings, bind a push-to-talk key before your first scene. A working microphone is required in the city.
Connect
Use the button below, search Gatewood in the FiveM server list, or paste the direct connect address into the F8 console.
If something goes wrong
I can't connect / stuck on loading
Check the server-status channel in Discord first — it updates automatically. If it says online, clear your FiveM cache (FiveM → Settings → Clear cache) and try again. Still stuck? Open a support ticket with a screenshot of the error.
It says I'm not whitelisted
Either your application hasn't been approved yet, or the Discord account you linked to FiveM isn't the one you applied with. Run /link me in Discord while you're in the queue and the bot will match you to your live player entry.
I'm stuck in a queue
The city fills up most evenings. Donators, creators and staff get priority slots. Leave FiveM open — the queue holds your place and connects you automatically.
Nobody can hear me
Check the microphone selected in FiveM's voice settings matches the one Windows is using, and confirm your push-to-talk key isn't bound to something else. Voice is proximity-based — if nobody is near you, nobody hears you.
Ready when you are
Verify in Discord and put your application in — the city is on the other side of it.
